You’ve seen the signs around town. Now meet the people behind them. Jeff Moore and Brian de la Puente sit down separately with San Clemente mayoral candidates Shane Hirschman, Kathy Ward and Victor Cabral to talk about the decisions facing our beach town. The conversations cover Measure M, beach erosion and sand replenishment, downtown parking, parklets, homelessness, wildfire preparedness and how San Clemente can grow while keeping its character. Hirschman talks about the Art Crawl and his ideas for an arts district. Ward discusses planning, outdoor dining and her concerns about Measure M. Cabral talks about beach projects, public safety and working with other levels of government. There’s also time for favorite beaches, local spots and the stories behind those campaign signs. Three separate interviews, with each candidate explaining their own priorities.

Produced at Beach House Studios in San Clemente.
